OK. It’s Father’s Day again. This year why not celebrate the most important and amazing role that your father or husband plays in your household… The Spiritual Head of the Household.
As a reminder, the term Spiritual Head of the Household stems from Ephesians 5:22-23 where Paul writes, “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” In 1 Corinthians 10:31 Paul also says, “Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” Being the Spiritual Head of the Household is a role that has a lofty amount of responsibility. It includes ‘setting the tone’ for how the family worships and prays; Loving your family as Jesus loved the church; Listening with a ‘God Perspective’; Loving unconditionally; Forgiving every wrong action or thought; and Teaching the family about God and what a relationship with Christ looks like.
My suggestion for this Father’s Day is a Scripture Desk Clock. No, not just any old boring desk clock, but a structurally pleasing clock with beautiful lines that has a wonderful scripture or inspirational verse painted on the front as a reminder for your father or husband.

There are 3 Clocks in this line. The ‘Be Still and Know that I am God’ Clock could be just the perfect nudge to quiet oneself and seek God’s presence in the midst of a busy day. The ‘God is Faithful’ Clock is our most popular desk clock and a gentle reminder that God never leaves nor forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5). Finally, we offer a clock that reminds us to pray – ‘Take Time To Pray’.

The thing about clocks is their inescapable reminder that ‘time clicks on’ and that you really can never recover the minutes, hours, and day that have just passed. Which really should be an encouragement to that special man in your life that he should live each day with great purpose in mind. Wouldn’t it be great to let your father or husband know just how grateful you are for the time that he spends not only with you, but also with his Father in Heaven. The countless hours he spends interceding for his family. Father’s Day is the perfect time to acknowledge your father or husband as the Spiritual Head of the Household and encourage him in that role. The encouragement will come back three-fold.
