What do you know that is ‘set in stone’ today?  What do you know that is no longer changeable?  Certain?  Firm?  Permanent?              

Your job?  Your health?  Your wealth?  Your friends?  Your amazing marriage?  Your perfect children?  I guess my life circumstances and the lives that I observe around me indicate that there’s just not much that I can say is ‘set in stone’ in this earthly realm.  The one thing that we can know for certain is the love of Christ and His redemptive plan for our lives.   Jeremiah 31:3 promises, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.’  Zephaniah 3:17 says, ‘The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.’  John 3:16 says ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’                           

Amazing & awesome.  The only thing that I know for certain is the love of Christ.  This is good news to share with someone who is going through pain and transition in their lives or for someone who just needs a little reminder.  Let them know that there is one thing ‘set in stone’ that they can hang onto and embrace.
